All staff involved with using woodworking equipment in the workplace, MUST receive some from of woodworking machinery training by legal requirement. HSE state that this training "must be refreshed every 3 to 5 years".
Here at AMS all of our woodworking machinery training courses are tailored to compliment your employees learning needs and the equipment they are using. This can vary from a single classical woodworking machine to a range of more advanced equipment and machinery. Courses start from a single day but do vary depending upon what machines the employee is receiving training on and the number of staff attending.
Our woodworking machinery training courses cater for all members of staff including experienced users and novice level beginners. We also provide courses tailored specifically for Managers and Supervisors to ensure your staff are using equipment legally and safely. We work in association with training partners and offer courses from basic instruction through to NVQS.

Assessment of Competence

CNC & CAD/CAM Woodworking Machine Training
Aimed at businesses using CNC and CAD/CAM (AlphaCAM) system for programming such machinery. All courses are tailored to the requirements of the individual and/or business needs.
Health & Safety - Noise Assessments
By law, every employer MUST assess noise levels in the workplace, which means regularly undertaking noise surveys of your facility. If a noise survey reveals noise levels above certain thresholds then you are obliged by law to take measures to reduce employees’ exposure. If your company operates woodworking machinery it is almost inevitable that you WILL have to take action to reduce employees’ exposure.
Wood Machinery Safety Audits
Advanced Machinery Services are able to provide machine audits that are in operation within your workplace. At the end of the audit, a practical and clear report with actions and recommendations will be provided to ensure your machines comply with current legislation and up to date working practices.
On-site plant operator training for candidates of all experience levels; novice, experienced and refresher. The client is required to provide the Telehandler for training. Didac instructors can tailor training to the type of Telehandler, attachments and specific job requirements to equip your employees with the relevant skills to be effective in their job.
Safety Training - Abrasive Wheels
Courses covering current legal requirements for those needing to safely use and change abrasive wheels. All courses are tailored to the requirements of the individual and/or business needs.
Safety Training - Working at Height
Theoretical classroom based training for candidates of all experience levels. On completion, candidates will be able carry out suitable risk assessments and manage working at height situations safely.
Safety Training - Traffic Marshal
On-site training for candidates of all experience levels; novice, experienced and refresher. Every endeavour is taken to minimise the impact on normal working operations and ensure that training is relevant and industry specific.
Safety Training - Portable Power Tools
Aimed at businesses with a requirement to ensure that staff are correctly and safely trained in the use of Power Hand Tools, whether powered by battery, electrical or pneumatic systems. All courses are tailored to the requirements of the individual and/or business needs.
