Advanced Machinery Services Celebrates its 10th anniversary

AMS team celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and are happy and proud to be the UKs  leading service provider with its industry leading ideas

Founded in late 2007, Advanced Machinery Services was formed by Steve Foster and Stephen McGloin.

They had previously been directors at Wadkin before deciding to go it alone and set up their very own specialist machinery and spare parts company.

One year later they had formed a partnership with a training company and AMS began to deliver accredited courses.

The service division and spares parts department continued to rapidly grow too.

AMS has very fond memories of its first 10 years

One of the best one was in 2012 when AMS decided to buy the intellectual property rights to Wadkin's woodworking machinery and its stock following its decline.

The majority of its staff came from the iconic true home of Wadkin on Green Lane Road in Leicester.

They still proudly display their Wadkin Bursgreen logo alongside their own.

Stephen McGloin said: “We are very proud of our story. And the pedigree that we still carry today

Currently, one of the strongest markets for AMS is the tooling and the spare parts division. Their customers can now order online from their website or from their E-Bay shop.

In addition, the service department has continued to grow with new engineers onboard and the 5th apprentice started (their 6th apprentice will join in June)

AMS has also recruited a commercial trainee who will sit alongside the sales and marketing department

The rebuild department remains steady with capacity sold out for the next 6 months Steve Foster commented this is an area that we do not have to work on the machines for rebuilding just arrive

AMS has participated in W12, W14 and W16 Exhibition, the biggest Joinery & Furniture Manufacturing show in UK, and they will participate with their biggest stand ever in Birmingham this year

AMS organises “Open house” exhibitions at their showroom in Skeffington (Leicestershire) twice a year. You can view different types of Wadkin Bursgreen machines like Planer Moulders, Crosscuts, Panel Saws, Edge banders…

They provide special offers during these events and is a great chance for customers and AMS staff to meet face to face.

They have also introduced their new Wadkin Bursgreen Automatic and semi-automatic crosscuts with 11 machines already sold

These can be viewed at the customer’s premises or in the Leicester showroom

S. McGloin said: “Why we selected these machines and added our own specifications is that after visiting the factory we were impressed by the strong build quality of the machines but more importantly was the service and the ongoing reliable supply”

AMS now has over 10 years’ experience in providing service and spare parts for machines in production facilities and operations all over the world

S. Foster said: “It does not matter what production facility you operate, we're certain we will be able to find exactly what you need and help you every step of the way”.
