At AMS, we are experts in woodworking machinery and services, for that we are going to answer the difference between a rip saw machine and a band resaw to help you.
What is the difference between a rip saw and a band resaw?
- Circular rip saws have been available for many decades and are very popular in small to medium sized workshops for ripping down solid timber planks. These machines are hand fed and are limited in the depth of cut they can achieve.
- An alternative to the conventional rip saw is the power fed band Resaw which with a wide bandsaw blade can deep cut in excess of 300mm and the plank is power fed for ease of use.
The bandsaw blade is approximately 2mm where a circular saw blade may be 5/6mm in width so using more timber per cut.
